About Kentucky Knifemakers .com

This website is my endeavor to recognize and promote Kentuckians involved in the craft of making knives. This website was created and is maintained by Mike Carter for the benefit of all Kentucky knifemakers and was first published January 20, 2010.

Being a custom knifemaker since 2003, I was surprised by the number of Kentucky knifemakers I found when I really started looking for them. And I DID have to look. Some have been making knives for decades yet I had never heard of them. It is my hope that www.kentuckyknifemakers.com will serve as a central directory to help people locate and contact Kentucky knifemakers.

I am not doing this to make money. In fact, the listings and personal web pages on this website were offered FREE to Kentucky knifemakers and associates for the first year.  There are costs associated with hosting this website, domain names and my time to create and maintain the site. If anyone wishes to donate a few dollars toward maintaining this site I will certainly be appreciative.

Starting in January 2011, I am asking that any Kentucky knifemaker wanting to be included on this website pay a very reasonable fee of $10 per year. In our first year, 2010, we had over 1100 visitors from more than 25 countries visit this website. That is not a huge amount of traffic by any means but $10 is dirt cheap advertising to reach a thousand potential customers. I will continue to update your personal web pages on this site at no additional charge.

Donations or listing fees can be sent via PayPal to sales@cartercrafts.com or mailed to Mike Carter, 2522 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206.
